From 2010 to 2013 he was Vice President of Reservoir Management at BP with global accountability for performance, resource progression in producing fields, standards and capability. In his last BP role up to March 2015, he was Director for Tight Gas Resource Appraisal leading projects in the UK, Oman and Algeria.<\/p>\n<p>Since establishing Cudmore Oil &amp; Gas Consulting, Miles has supported a broad range of international clients including First Alpha Energy Capital LLP, a private equity start up. Miles also supports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rockflow.com\/\">Rockflow<\/a> as an Executive Advisor.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img src=\"http:\/\/www.cog-consulting.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/M-Cudmore-Picture-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"M Cudmore Picture\" itemprop=\"image\" title=\"M Cudmore Picture\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-0\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\">Experience Details<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-0\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t<ul>\n<li><strong>Development planning<\/strong> where Miles has led preparation of field development plans for assets in the UK, Algeria, Kuwait and Venezuela and advised multiple clients on opportunities to increase recovery in their fields. At BP he also led a company wide effort defining BP&#8217;s &#8220;area planning&#8221; process up to pilot stage.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reservoir depletion management<\/strong> including waterflood performance optimisation, screening evaluation of enhanced oil recovery techniques and gas field depletion management for assets in Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Unconventional Resource Appraisal<\/strong> where he led the definition and delivery of BP&#8217;s Tight Gas Appraisal Projects in the UK, Oman and Algeria. Miles established new teams and was able to materially reduce costs through strong technical and business focus.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Assurance of resources underpinning field depletion, project stage gates, reservoir appraisal and business development.<\/strong> Miles established a new assurance team to review BP&#8217;s top producing fields and provide critical support. He has personally reviewed numerous oil, gas, deep-water, and unconventional reservoirs. He is familiar with both SEC and PRMS resource reporting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Leading subsurface as a function across a major organisation<\/strong> including performance, standards, capability and technology. Miles established long term plans for the Reservoir Engineering and Petrophysics disciplines and helped create a new development framework for staff in their first 10 years. In partnership with the digital functions, Miles and team developed a project to replace BP&#8217;s global subsurface toolkit and introduce standard workflows. Earlier in his career he led the introduction of activity based production forecasting and reporting across BP.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Leading &#8220;non-operated&#8221; activity<\/strong> through focused influence on key decisions and risks. Miles reset shareholder meetings and governance for BP&#8217;s Algerian Joint Ventures in 2008. This helped enable the successful launch of three major projects and gave a foundation to improve operational integrity. In 2011 Miles worked with a new partner in India to reset plans, introduce secondees and provide support. He has advised multiple clients on best practices in &#8220;non operated&#8221; field management.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Leading technology planning and delivery.<\/strong> Miles was accountable for R&amp;D in advanced performance prediction and Petrophysics in BP. He led technology planning for tight gas resource appraisal and BP&#8217;s Algerian assets, integrating input from all disciplines. Miles is keen to ensure that technology development is performance managed, rapidly adds demonstrable value, and that knowledge is captured and shared to systematically build capability.<\/li>\n<li><strong>During his career, Miles has gained experience of multiple organisations<\/strong> with secondments to the Kuwait Oil Company, ADMA Opco and the In Salah \/ In Amenas Joint Ventures in Algeria. As a consultant he has worked with a wide range of companies and has also supported the First Alpha Energy Capital LLP private equity start up as SVP Reservoir Development. Miles has worked with multiple partners and regulators in a range of fiscal regimes. He has deep commercial awareness from his MBA and work on planning, procurement and business development.
